'Bit dissapointed that 'Consulate Charm' wasn't included on the CD release, still by far the best album of '05 though, which is spectacular considering that 'Calyx - No Turning Back' 'Guerilla Warfare' 'MDZ.05' & 'Rare Grooves' were all released in the same year!

Ah yes. This is some fresh stuff. The LP which came out before this was great, but this is even better. This release is fleshed out with six (!) extra tunes and they are all well worth it. Here is Calibre in top form creating funky, minimal and deep drum and bass. But not just drum and bass! 'Don't Watch This' and 'These Few' are deep house tracks which should fit easily in a Moodymann or Theo Parrish set. Or even better, play it out at your local jungle night! As we all know, the scene could use some variety in DJ sets. Another offbeat track is 'Drinnahilly', a chilled downtempo track which, together with the excellent 'Timeout', slows the pace for the remainder of the album. The rest is, well.. funky and sexy drum and bass we all know and love with excellent contributions from established vocalists. Of the non-vinyl drum and bass tracks I think 'Breathing Man' is the best. Big drums and overall an impeccable, dubby production. 'Blink Of An Eye' is maybe the most interesting track of the bunch and a little something which sounds quite innovative to me. My favorite track is probably 'Is It U'. Simple, emotive and highly effective.I'm thinking this is the best jungle album of 2005, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in thinking this.
