I couldn't really find any information on this release so I bought it blind. All things considered I'm pretty happy with it.Comparing sound quality between the FLAC digital release and this vinyl (which has vinyl specific mastering) I would say that the vinyl version does sound more spacious with the soundstage, but I wouldn't say it was more dynamic or detailed or anything like that. It's a pretty decent sounding record, though there are a handful of spots with either a bit of crackling or ticking, but certainly not persistent throughout the record. Cleaning the vinyl may help, I can't say. Mine's fairly quiet for surface noise, though. I should mention that my sealed new copy (which I got directly from bandcamp) did come with a very mild outer edge warp (does not come close to affecting play) and a very small spot of light surface scratches on the first track of side A (inaudible from my listening). These are very minor blemishes in my personal opinion, but it's better to be informed. My only other nit-pick about the record physically is that the outer sleeve's artwork isn't quite as sharp as it could be. It's not what I'd call blurry, and it's not pixelated; but it could have been a little crisper. Also, rather strangely, the sleeve has a proper spine but there isn't any title printed on it, which is a bit unusual. Not sure if that was intentional or an oversight...All of those minor complaints out of the way, this album is great stuff musically. "Dynamic" Doom Metal I would call it, with some really great vocal work in those soaring highlights. Total cost with shipping out to Australia was a tad on the pricey side ($41AU) but that's to be expected with a limited, independent release like this. I would say if you like this album jump on the vinyl now before they're all gone, especially since the CD version is pretty ordinary (4 panel insert and black tray jewel case).Update 12/10/17: They've reissuing the album on both CD and Vinyl with new artwork. Both new versions look a hell of a lot nicer than the originals in terms of their presentation and both include bonus tracks. Vinyl is coloured double LP and CD is digipak. I feel a bit gypped, actually, should've waited (not that I had any idea there'd be a reissue coming so soon). Maybe my first pressing will end up being valuable, but I'm not holding my breath.
