There is not one version of this epic uplifter I do not like. The original that was set forth by Dan Stone himself, under his new moniker "Aruba Flow", is itself a treat to the ears. The main pluck lead contains a delightful melody, which is then supplemented by a piano late in the song. All the remixes offer a variety of new sounds that do the original great justice and then some. The Underwater remix is my personal favorite. Early on there's a groovy bassline which works its way into a well structured cacophony of percussion and synths. The breakdown will leave a smile on anyone's face, even those who more or less may not be the most enthused trance listeners. A keyboard slows down the listener, transitioning from the fast paced opening to a soothing break, which then accelerates as the lead becomes richer and more defined. The Abbott & Chambers remix has a very similar feel to the Underwater remix, only it makes more use of Dan Stone's original lead melody and then has its own take on that melody, which is so fascinating it gets under your skin. Once again, another great one worth a listen. In my opinion, the Niklas Grosswald remix give the song a more energetic, progressive drive. The driving bassline hums throughout the song, which is similar to the original, and there is a to-be-reckoned-with combination of hard percussion sounds and uplifting strings and pads. It also has less of a summer feel, which may work for some who have a seasonal way of listening to songs and may want to hear the song throughout the year. The Sly One vs. Jurrane version can be thought as a combination of the Underwater and Niklas Grosswald versions. The breakdown is powerful and the bassline is very driving. Overall, 2008 bagged a massive one. I only wish the song and all its remixes were given more of the exposure they so greatly deserved.
