This "Spirales" library record stands in the Fabio Fabor much sough after music production of early Eighties. In particular this is the first of a immaginary trilogy discs wich includes 1982 "Parfums" and 1984 "Softly Softly", lefting "Aquarium" as a "per sè" omni comprehensive opus stand out. Here music is credited to Fabor's Orchestra because the production is generously enriched by two muscians from Antonio Arena session players, Mauro Verrone at Alto and Tenor Sax, plus elio Cassarà at guitars. The music production is clearly astounding and is due to Arena mastership into programming digital bass lines and electronic percussions into the overrall creative process that sometimes seems to erase away a little Fabors capacity at keyboard and piano to build up his meditative and detailed melodies.Infact at listening the record in sides order, one can be disappointed by the fact that tracks cen be mere shwocaes of session players abilities.Plus is missing that dramatic and melancoholy feel that usual listeners will apprciate to love with other 2 previuosly mentioned record. But fortunately is not so at the end.PLEASE FOLLOW THIS SUGGESTED HINT: Simply start hearing the record from Side B and then to Side A.Doing so one can slowly enter in the magnificent late night mood wich "Spirales" is: some lovely sweet affecting melodies wich quietly lead to a faster effervescent mood, where the soloist show their array of skills on the beautiful piano patterns by Fabor and suggestive electronic layers by Arena.Infact side A with his opening title track should be put elsewhere like being the 7th listened to song into a reversed order: so it can be enjoyed for what it is and for what the listener expectations are : infact this track has much fast guitar flamenco like solos and similarly is accompanied by fast swing tempo sax flipperings. Because one has to quietly enter into this shake tempo to fully enjoy its mood makes my suggested hint really functional for a sure pleasure purpose.Tracks on B sides showes music where Fabor's touch is not generally erased by other instruments: the elctronic melodies played by piano and keyboards are widely there suggesting distensive feeling and night time meditation: wonderfully it is presented in "Delicatesse" , where a literally eatable (!) commestible soft melody is going on after each bite with a concrete feeling. In "Secrets" the Piano Bar music in his best personification sets in romantic and dramatic harmony with sensual sax and glimmering strings like electronics, in "Trois Plumes" the steady piano is filled with some more percussive drums that acts like gin tonic and makes stronger the overrall mood with his volatile 3 strong hard subsequent beats that signs the strophe and remarks the titles.Again the link between track titles and music is strong: with "Amourette" and "Nimphette" an intimacy feel and a wide arrangment makes fast and medium beats wich closes down gently the first bunch of tracks, allowing us for more on next side. The A side is clearly figuring out how the particular music of an era can be the vehicle for transmitting emotions and this is fully true for all the Fabio Fabor latest library output: he took the "style" of an epoca and put modern emotions in it with remarkable music construction craftmanship. So we are in the starting eighties when this library was issued: the disco music with his unique kind of pumped-up wide array of percussions and up-front bassline 'n' keyboard electronic madness sign the output of the 80's.But here we have more some wonderful electronics gimmicks added with multiple layers of spacey sounds: still here the track names depicts a bit the music (but less than b side), and thi smakes a fusion between the 70's and the 80's.With tracks "Onde Blonde" and "Reveries" the melody quietly oscillates between the instruments inter-play following a sensual overlapping effect of one above the other, with track "Iris" the tempo goes faster with the use of alto sax and suddenly ends with "Croissant" and its last edible bite.Tracks here antcipates with 3 years the much appreciated tight steadiness spacey funkiness of 1983 Space Craft's Men "Adventores" and the amazing meditative orchestra feel of 1984 "Soflty Softly" . Again, strongly, with these libraries Fabor established some of the most "lovable" and sensual sensitive music wich overcomed the background music purpose and instilled into tracks his romantic and emotional weigh for pure listening pleasure.
