I must be the only person that likes this track then! My copy got stolen in 2003 so I just bagged a replacement 14 years later. I just like the vibe.

The track is called 'The Mexican', Mexico being a country where the dominant language is Spanish...the vocal is Portuguese. Whoops. It's an alright light roller but there are far better tracks in a similar style.

Well I'll not go as deep with my description of this EP as 'nsfmc' did, however I will make the comment that quite a few of us that were following his releases & regularly smashing them out at the time were well-surprised when this went on at the listening booth. I remember looking twice to see it WAS 'Portica Recs' & not in the wrong cover...there's trying different styles, taking risks here & there with an EP, but this was like Bukem trying to write Gabber...and it doesnt come off, nor does it really shine of his usual HQ production but rather sounds a little rushed...

This perfunctory release rode on the coattails of LK but had no similar merit. Its vocals were uninspired, even if comical to hear the first few times, but no amount of guitar strumming or spanish talking cam make this track validate itself as an improvement in the genre of melody driven, acoustic instrument reinforced drum n bass that marky provided, even if it is mildly catchy. Adding insult to injury, the B side is horrendous, lacking imagination and variety, it fails to even provide a convinving vocal to redeem itself. The record gets a C for effort, having done nothing to make it stand out among the myriad songs of the same style, except for being in a popular clique.
