I spied one of these at my local Barnes and Noble a year or so ago, but passed over it. I recently heard some of the music again and felt like it would be great to have it on vinyl. I popped into my local Barnes and Noble again and it was right where I left it in the tiny classical section a year or more ago. I admittedly checked the Discogs listing and noticed complaints, but I was hopeful this 2lp edition might have some good pressings. Before opening I looked into Barnes and Noble's return policy - and while it seemed to be equivocal - I held my breath and took a shot on this one. I washed the records - which had plenty of debris on them already - and then dropped the Ortofon 2M Blue needle to immediately hear significant surface noise. It did not subside and it combined with some distortion to render every quiet section nearly unlistenable. The full volume passages sounded decent, but listening to the other parts was not any fun at all. I took it back to Barnes and Noble today and they did give me a refund without too much trouble. Oh well, I added the cd to my wantlist.

I'm unsure how this version is different from r7823669. Either way, I love this album and while two users have reported unusual surface noise, my copy is very smooth and the sound only distorts on a few places - such as Aoife O'Donovan's part in 'Here and Heaven'.

My copy is very noisy - extreme right channel distortion during Attaboy. Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't know if I'm the only one who's had this happen, but my brand new copy has the worst surface noise of any record I've ever purchased. I'd be careful buying it.

I have the double LP and it has the same issue. Attaboy is especially bad. Very Disappointing.
