Curd Duca keeps things short and sweet with Elevator 3, an album of tiny bits and pieces of songs, almost all of which last under a minute and a half. Obviously, there’s little songwriting to speak of -- with an experimental work such as this, it’s important to judge the work on its own standards. So, since the subtitle of the album boasts that this is “digitalanalog mood music,” but the tracks don’t really last long enough to establish any sort of mood whatsoever. The tracks do create an intriguing aural background, however, with wisps of melody, sudden percussion hits, or stuttering vocal samples augmenting the feel. Definitely an interesting listening experience, even though I’m not sure exactly what to make of it.

Hopefully, I hope what these dudes know what they are doing. Cos I shurely ain´t. My opinion is that once they have a neat little groove, they crop it down. There are much extremely good material here, but it is choked at birth it seems like... Good moods and lovely textures, but chopped into tiny bits. Try putting it on random, and it clicks in the middle of a drumsound and becomes silent for a period, the turn up the volume then it crashes your ear and something horrileous happens. I´d say construct a more levelled product. It is eccelent as mixing-material though. Or try the LP? (or longer cd tracks!)
