Predates the version of The Winter Consort that recorded the great album, "Icarus". McCandless, Towner, and Wolcott are not in this lineup, and it suffers by comparison. The music is pleasant enough, with varied instrumentation, capable playing, and a broad world view, so you get a sense of what is possible, of what is to come. But,if you have to own only one Winter Consort album, this 1968 LP isn't it.
