Kamakiriad:
Is album of eight related songs. The literal action takes place a few years in the future, near the millennium. In the first song, "Trans-Island Skyway", the narrator tells us he is about to embark on a journey in his new dream-car, a custom-tooled Kamakiri. It's built for the new century: steam-driven, with the Tripstar routing satellite. The next six songs describe his adventures along the way, In the last song, "Teahouse On The Tracks", the narrator lands in dismal Flytown where he must decide whether to bail out or to rally and continue moving into the unknown.

Inner sleeve with photos, lyrics & credits

"Dedicated in memorium to Dorothy White."

There is absolutely no reason for these high prices as there is plenty for sale. This is really ugly and obviously not people who are music lovers but rather collectors. A Gaugin or Picasso is only made in 1 original copy and is of course worthy to be auctioned at Sotheby's but this is ridiculous.
  • Vutaur
The high prices are for the vinyl copies. When this was released vinyl was in the doldrums, and most people bought the CD. The current prices reflect the law of supply and demand; if an item is in demand and has low availability, this will be reflected in the price. Applies to gold, diamonds etc, as well as works by Gaugin, Picasso et al.

Something is only as valuable as what someone is willing to pay for it. The marketplace sets the price based on supply and demand. If you are not willing to pay that much for it then you are not in the marketplace for this item. Its not a conspiracy against anyone, just basic economics. The vinyl for Kamakiriad (1993) was never released in the U.S., so the German press is a bit rare.

I have a simple solution for you: Don't buy then ... ;-)
  • OCARO
Agreed 10000%. Come on, people. There's absolutely no reason to be charging $100+ for VG or VG- or worse condition. You people are just out of control! Cool it
