SCSI-9 move onto the Greek label Klik for METAMORPHOSIS, a change you can hear immediately in the subdued "Intronome." This new, abstract direction for the duo leans into the coolly spare "Schaukel Duo ," while "Nostalgia" carries a touch of Spanish flair in its momentary guitar. The melancholy woodwinds of "Had I But Wings Like Thine" hang about the air. SCSI-9 also let the tracks segue into one another, as opposed to their more discrete tracked earlier albums, which gives the dub techno of "Song from the High Tower" more of a continuous feel before the standard house vocals enter. "I'm Lost" strips out most of the vocals but definitely keeps the dub techno and the title track delves into that reverb even more, but "Moebius" heads back to their more upbeat side. That is, until "Alphaville" and the album closer "Ellsworth Land" return to the dub leanings. Definitely a change for the SCSI-9 boys, though it seems to lack the personality of their earlier works.

I really love Schaukel Duo, but it's not even on this vinyl release of the album. Hopefully, they press a 12" with Schaukel Duo getting a whole side to itself.I'll buy that record.(Schaukel Duo is a track for those who like pretty, sentimental-but-not-cheesy melodies.)
