Video about Kraftwerk - Ralf & Florian

UNFORTUNATELY of course a bootleg and needle drop from vinyl but good sound like their first 2 albums this was never released on CD officiallyIF YOU have the chance to buy those bootlegs of RALF AND FLORIAN then please buy the GERMANOFON better than the CROWN RECORDS copy because the germanofon has the Musicomic as mini booklet while the CROWN RECORD one has not
  • Blackworm
Ananas Symphonie case closed. Eno you rip off artist you didnt create ambient music the Germans did! One of my favorite early pre-Autobahn Kraftwerk albums.

Despite being a needle drop from vinyl copy, sound quality is excellent! No distortions or pops noticeable.
  • Lemana
it is the best their early work of the first 3 albumsthey use synthesizers and on ANANAS SYMPHONIE you can hear for the first time the vocoder voice KRISTALLO is huge. it sounds like early techno music
  • Urreur
With "Ralf & Florian", the group channeled the creative rawness of the previous records in a more concentrated, yet absolutely unique and entertaining masterpiece that comes in a geeky but lovely artwork. A secret highlight in Kraftwerks discography. Needs an official reissue!
  • Cobandis
This is very different than their later work but still pretty interesting. Its also very different than even Autobahn which would be released a year later. Kristallo seems like the track that sounds the most like later Kraftwerk.

How's the sound on these pressings? Are they any good?
  • Mavegelv
Sounds okay to me, but I need to listen to the original release to give a definite opinion... Sometimes the sound tends to saturate a bit, but I don't know, maybe this is in the recording.
  • Levaq
reeltooreel Bump. Also very curious as to how these sound compared to the original Vertigo release... Dude, this isn't 4chan, you don't have to bump posts...

For me this Album and especially Kristallo and Tanzmusik is the start of EDM (and collecting records). Kristallo refers to the future of Dance and Tanzmusik says it all. It still is experimental and Kraftwerk has not found their sound yet as the concept records that followed had. Kraftwerk 1 and 2 are studies and Ralf and Florian is their final exam. Essential.

later pressings with same CAT# VEL-2006 - corrected the type-o but have different matrix #'s
  • Mbon
"Tanzmusik" sounds freakin' awesome considering the fact it's over 40 years old! You can't that too often for tunes that are even 20 years old. Heck, a lot of the crappy stuff released in the present is a bloody insult to Kraftwerk themselves. This track sounds less conceptual compared to the other tracks in this EP. A pity that this wonderful track is one of the lesser known tracks composed my them. Classic piece of art and a nice EP overall.
  • Enone
Great album! Early, unique effort to create very special German athmospheric, little gothic, ancient, ambient textures. Romantic, yet technocratic in some ways, mostly by the usage of the drummachine. This is their first synthesizer featured album. Well, there were some on the Kraftwerk-1 but that was more like an effect source. Here you hear now complete melody-lines, chords, and even the vocoder appears as a fully functional instrument in the Ananas symphony. There's a very-very special athmosphere in the entire lenght, like nothing else. Obscure landscapes, dreams of a remote German hometown, hidden places of the planet, are are lying within the flows of the tunes... Simply loveable!

this lp and the two cone lps that are pressed by crown are probably the worst vinyl pressings i have. not listenable. scouting around for better. to all the people that want these crowns ... why?

Ralf & Florian is Kraftwerk, but not as many would know it. After Kraftwerk 1 & 2, Hutter and Schneider shrunk the band to just themselves, and moved away from the drawn-out experimentation that dominated their previous work, instead concentrating on more song-based and indeed melodic work with a strong romantic and pastoral feel that would surface a year later with Autobahn, the song that projected the band into the stratosphere. There's a playfulness in this LP that perhaps seems rather melancholy especially as the Kraftwerk that emerged from this period Ralf Hutter deems "archaeology" was keen to stretch out songs, but not in the concise rhythmic manner that dominates their later work. There is also, interestingly enough, a hint of the dancefloor direction, albeit perhaps accidental, that they would eventually create for themselves in the hauntingly icy and baroque "Kristallo". This is Kraftwerk still experimenting, but with stronger, more structured concepts that would within a couple of years be fully realised. Amusingly, the back cover features both Hutter and Schneider in a rather frugal-looking Kling Klang studio, replete with more traditional instruments.

If you were familiar with Kraftwerk prior to their universal "props" during the techno age, you may be aware that most press coverage states that the only good Kraftwerk album was "Autobahn". I had read that for most of my life and twenty five years of press stated that. But I assure you, corporate-controlled media never knows what its talking about and it will say what it wants to to further their agenda no matter how diabolical or misdirected. What their agenda is exactly was always just beyond me! I have three Kraftwerk albums, have heard several others and do know this - the media is wrong! This album is actually better than Autobahn by a few degrees. That's entirely subjective but I feel this one has the overall advantage of more flavor. I love the writing on this album. Now don't get me wrong, I first heard Autobahn in 1975 when I was three years old, it will always hold a place in my heart, but this album is a class act. Do give it a listen. It is excellent!

Hey "jazzliscious" I just read your comment & I do respect your opinion, however as much as I agree with you that this album is good & I do consider it even better then their first 2 albums I disagree with you totally as far as you saying that this album is better then "Autobahn". "Autobahn" was a landmark album in itself for Kraftwerk - This album does not fall into the catagory of a landmark album.
