I Didnt knew that this kind of stuff or this genre existed/exists,and having listened for the first time "Urban Warfare",and knowing more about the movement,i can just say,what a fine and polished work they done. For a listener like me (As i was already used with breakbeat hardcore/Jungle and Golden age Hip Hop,along with Anarcho-punk),it was a incredible discovery. Perfect and globally fit critical lyrics that never get old (Some of the problems and issues in society related by them,like the police abuse happens in Brazil just every day,haha),Hard breaks and a "Harsher","Darker" sound. Just Outstanding.I Have liked some of the new productions too,it sounds different,but mantains the original flavour.

Wow!.I was lucky enough to be shopping in World Beats in Wolverton as my regular haunt at the time of the first 2 EPs by the Criminal Minds. Picci himself thrust these limited homebrew releases in to my eager sticky mitts. All the local DJs shopped there - I even remember hearing "Urban Warfare" blasting out at the local skating rink! I got some of their proto-jungle hardcore stuff too, but never picked up on their later hip-hop work. And boy did I miss out. Every track on here is a killer! The early tunes still rip the guts out of my ears, but the later stuff keeps up the pressure and there is no let up in quality - not in the onslaught of hardcore beats, old-skool scratches, ruff lyrics, apocalyptic visions blended with b-boy battle-speak, crazy orchestral stabs, you name it. One surprise is "Breathe", which takes the intro of a meditation tape, then drops into a piano riff, breakbeat and Iceski's ruff rapping with a strong message of self-belief. A mind-blowing track. And a mind-blowing compilation from a truly seminal outfit in UK hip hop

Yes - this is one of those 11 out of 10 releases. So, so good.

This is a TIGHT realese of some of the classics.Well recommended. Just wish they added TASTE OF ARMGGEDDON.Still top hardcore :)
