is there any way to differentiate the two US pressings (2003 v 2009) without opening package? i'd like to sell a sealed copy i have but i'm not sure which edition it is (though i'm leaning toward the reissue)

Question for those that have this release of the album:This original pressing has the "original beats" for 'The Red" and 'No Games', correct? I'm referring to the beat for 'The Red' that samples Cris Williamson, and the beat for 'No Games' that Madlib also used on MF Doom's 'One Beer' (off MM..Food). Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question - I know the obvious answer should be yes, the original pressing has the original beats for these two tracks - I'm just trying to confirm because JoGooS's comment below seems to indicate that they bought this release and it didn't contain the original version of 'The Red'.I know the 2009 reissue contains alternate beats for these tracks - I'm just looking to pick up this LP with the original versions of these two tracks, and want to confirm that this release is the "correct" one....Thanks!

Yes, I have the 2003 2xLP and it does contain the OG beats for these tracks. "The Red" e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0uRisupVk8

I think it`s a pretty dope album overall. Beside the tracks that`ve been already mentioned, I really loveThe Mission and MCNasty Filth! I was wondering: Was the ORIGINAL version of The Red on any vinyl-release? Or does every vinyl release come with the second version, that I really just don`t like.
  • Ferri - My name
The 2003 2xLP has the OG version of "The Red"

"The Red" and "Starz" are super dope, but the rest is only "good" in my opinion. As far as collab go, "Madvillainy" is a lot hotter.

OMG - is it 12 years since this was released? I was living in France at the time and the bloke downstairs (who also happened to be a producer for local rappers) was playing it all the time but then he moved so i had to go out and buy it for myself - next to the Latryx LP, its one of my favourite ever LPs of independent hiphop
