If you're looking for funk and psych from your Turkish Ladies, be forewarned this comes up short. For the most part this is a comp of popular commercial seeking Turkish female singers in a pop lounge club style setting especially on side one. They are adorned with loads of fake synth strings all over the place thus rendering most of this as pretty ordinary. These 45s are very common sounding...if you don't mind your Turkish Ladies w/o great fuzz, distortion, sizzling saz,, funky beats and otherwise psychy heaviness, then by all means get it...Side 2 is much better as the commercial sounds leave with less fake strings, but overall this still lacks the punch!

JahSpear Very harsh. Really enjoying this. Don't think the title even mentioned funk or psych. I agree on the Gul Airgun track - outstanding. The mournful final 11 minute Dilber Rogan track is amazing. Take your hipster glasses off for a moment. What the fuck is psych anyway. I have loads of so called psych yet have no idea. Review it for what it is not what you expected because that's what Turkish comps are normally labelled as. Ignore this and buy it. Really good stuff. Glad you like it, friend...everyone has different tastes; for myself I've heard thousands of Turkish songs, and Turkish music is my favorite sub-genre. I've been listening and collecting this stuff for almost 20 years. I don't think my comments are harsh, especially when we pay good hard earned money for reissues, and we expect better than what I hear as average unwanted and left behind 45s. It's like going to Turkey with your portable player sifting through hundreds of 45s, looking for the best ones...believe me most of these on this comp I'd of left behind, looking for more of the funk, e-saz and psych ones which are more rare, and more wanted (if that tells you anything)… by the way, the press release does say there's funk and psych in this comp....There are so many more great and exciting tracks out there from my perspective. I own a good heaping pile of Turkish records and about 13 comps...this one is by far the weakest I've ever heard. As a consumer, I feel it's my duty to voice my opinion and let my fellow collectors know what I think...just as you can voice yours. Now if you don't mind, I think I will go listen to some killer stuff from Taci, or Akbaba Iklisi or Selda Bagcan!

Agreed. I bought this comp pretty much exclusively for: Gül Sorgun - Ara Leyli. A lot of the other stuff is quite average compared to other Turkish 45s I've got.
