This is indeed not a very good pressing. I had the pleasure of speaking with the former head of Emperor Norton, who admitted the release wasn’t up to their usual standard. They had been working on the soundtrack for some months, and unfortunately he happened to be traveling for work when this was finally pressed and tested - unbeknownst to him. It was pressed in the Czech Republic, and by the time he got back from his work trip, his colleagues had approved the pressing and ordered a full run without his okay or permission. He still regrets not having had the chance to quality control this release and told me it was an embarrassment for the label. Unfortunately he doesn’t think it will be reissued anytime soon, as the licensing for the songs was difficult to obtain and was only made possible because they were a small label with some friendly connections in the industry. It’s really a shame as this is such a great, classic soundtrack.

i had the original pressing and from day 1 it had so much noises and a very bad mastering (like the jamie XX record for example), so after 2 years i decided to sell it, the sleeve prevented me from doing it earlier... ;)

Anyone else find the pressing on the original vinyl release not that great ?

I find the original pressing to be a little noisey. It does sound good, just could have been better. Quiet parts and song transitions especially have some noise. I have a recent bootleg, the clear vinyl version, as well which sound surprisingly great. Overall I can tell the OG sounds better deep down, and the cover is much nicer quality. But might be happy with just the bootleg. A phenomenal soundtrack either way. Just want to enjoy it.

Just picked up a pristine copy of this for £45 and wondering if what I have is too good to be true. Anyone heard of any bootleg copies of this US pressing on black vinyl? I know about the Japanese bootlegs but my copy has the barcode and serial number of this original US pressing.
