One of the best albums ever. The only flaw is the intro speech, just pretend its never there and skip it.If you like black metal with dark and cold atmosphere, thats the album. Hellhammer in the drums, by the way.

In almost every way, The Eerie Cold feels exactly what I'd expected it to feel like. This is the step before Halmstad. This album feels so much like Halmstad that it's hard to differentiate the two outside Halmstad just being a little more disturbed and a little more well composed. The Eerie Cold features Shining's regular breed of off black metal that at times feels more like hard rock mixed with black metal at times. The vocals are every bit as prominent, sometimes annoying sometimes perfect. I'm not one of those people that's going to tell you this is an incredibly dark album, but it is twisted and it fits the bill of depressive black metal even if it sounds unlike most other artists in the same subgenre. I could do without the voice clips, but this is a pretty desolate and unique release.-Nesquik-

Tracklist changed and the first track includes fucking irritating introduction speech by some random clown who sounds like a redneck. Avoid this release!
