Though some arguable unjustice has been done to diligent IST Records collectors by re-releasing this monster, I have to come clean and say a big 'thank you' whoever made it widely available again. Despite the fact both of these tracks were availabe on Zenith's not-too-hard-to-grab-hold-of 1999 album "Flowers of intelligence", the vinyl is (was) one of the most ridiculously sought after pieces of wax I know of. Be it the absolutely trippy cover art or the insane feeling of the music, back in its day if you wanted to own a copy, it hit so hard on your wallet as though the finest IRS agents came to collect their share. Now, it's here again, minus two tracks present on the 1996 original press, but that didn't bother me. After all, I was strictly after the title track and Streets Of Avalon, with its heart tearing melody, layed over hell sent loud drum kicks. The combination of such exaggerated melody work coupled with noisy and harsh production sounds like a collaboration of bored cherubic angels descending to Dante's inferno to munch on some wild mushrooms and mash in the studio with Lucifer. The title track is the one to pay attention to. Eleven minutes of the most extreme hard trance, bewildering acid and heavy artillery percussion mercilessly marching at what must be a fair 170bpm! Can you imagine the roughest industrial attitude, the wildest acid synths, the fastest and toughest drum patterns all clashing for a battle of ultimate acoustic insanity? You can't? Well I can't explain it either, not in any language. All am I going to say is: if you have the remotest interest in either hard trance, acid trance, or any shape and form of hard core dance music, then please do humanity a favor and buy this while you still can! This is miles away from the stuff I usually listen to, but I cannot disqualify and disregard the effort and the undeniable energy that were put into forging a release as this one. Zenith really did have a style unlike no other producuer, it's such a pity he threw it all away and continued in some boring hardstyle fashion. Oh well, fortunately classics like these never cease to amaze!
