If you are - like me - 46 or around that age, you would have heard this upon release. It did take your breath away whilst simultaneously forcing your feet and hips to move. I last heard it out in 1994 at a Reclaim The Streets protest on the Westway motorway in London, coming from a parked articulated lorry... the first tune. Quite un-real and extremely potent.

Two huge Belgium tracks on this 12" from 1991 ! These were massive tracks played heavily."Fairy Dust" has the big screeching synth rift that cuts right through you, with its driving beats, deep driving bassline with additional synths loops adding additional texture, feel and energy to the track in parts. There's four mixes to pick from which all play on slightly different elements of the track. Big track back in its day. "Music and Noise" is more of a 4x4 track with bags of energy, with a cheeky acid rift to start the track off that intersperses, with its two synth loops one giving its its energy along with the driving percussion, and the other the classic big synth sound / feel that really fills a room. Huge track and still love it today. These are two fantastic tracks that bring back a lot of happy memories, if your a fan of the old school then these are for you !

Fairy Dust (Blastomania Mix) is the ONLY mix you need!... The rest is pretty flat..That goes for Frank De Wulf's mixes on the other 12".... As the saying goes 'If something ain't broke...Why try to fix it'!

Set Up System ‎– Fairy Dust ... That sound has never ever been replicated! The closest was Furious District- Stop!... I'd love to know how Danny van Wauwe, Peter Ramson got that sound.. Sounds like it may have come from a sample first then fed through the synth?... A1 Fairy Dust (Blastomania Mix) is the business right here! Coupled with ...Second Phaze- Mentasm...Out_fecking- standing!

Top notch Belgian Techno featuring four different versions of "Fairy Dust" and "Music And Noise". Fairy Dust has that famous main screeching hook which has been sampled & imitated by countless others (much like the "Mentasm" sound) of that period. Two remixes by Frank De Wulf starting with the break beat/electro influenced "Saga Mix" & the slightly tribal influenced, church bells sampled, pumping "Bells Mix". Together with the "Blastomania" & "Centripetal" original 4/4 rhythm style versions. The stand-out tracks are the Frank De Wulf mixes imo.Music And Noise is also an outstanding track with elements of acid house, techno & rave not sounding out of place in any old skool set. Five tracks of Belgian Techno quality...

One of the most outstanding releases from the early days of the Belgian Techno scene featuring: 'Fairy Dust' which was licensed to XL Recordings, UK with two extra remixes by Frank De Wulf and 'Music and Noise' on the B-side which was licensed to React, to one of their hugely successful 'Reactivate' compilations
