Does anyone else hear what sounds like a bad edit clip at the very start of the kick drum sample on Path 8? I find it slightly distracting. Great release tho.

A great reissue of my kingdom by the fsol stick with the CD as the vinyl is 8 tracks there for the CD is 10 track great value for your money super album

Superb pressing, superb sound, superb music, superb atmosphere... 10 stars from me

Finally got it. Re-imagination really surprised me, had high expectations on this new version of My Kingdom and have to say that was worth the wait! Top production! Good signs...waiting for the next Amorphous Androgynous album - apparently for 2019 - this year we will get a longform single from them also.

I wasn't going to buy this on RSD but saw it was the last copy and temptation bit and so glad I did.Gorgeous quiet black vinyl as dark as a moonless night. This should be a lesson to labels on how to make a pristine, 3d,clear and precise record.I don't really know a massive amount of FSOL (Papua New Guinea and Lifeforms) but found this quite interesting.I suppose you could call it a mini LP rather than an EP. but saying that my only problem with it is that it could have been a lot longer because just as you get into it.......The end.

Beautiful record, pressed very clean and clear. I love the Dead Cities era of FSOL, so this was a welcomed release to me. Very happy to have grabbed a copy.

I found this release largely pointless to be honest. It didn't do anything for me on a musical level over and above the original track. It comes at a high price, so only if you are a FSOL completest really.

Well, that is the point of Record Store Day. Repressing / remaking old records for a high price ;-)But this is actually a quite good FSOL release. Good sound quality (you should listen to the RSD 2018 release of Amorphous Androgynous "The Isness (Abbey Road Version)" to see how they can actually f++k it up completely) and the music is more interesting than most of the recent Environments stuff.

After missing out on the last copy in my RSD store to the guy in the queue behind me (why did I tell him my wants list) I bought a €26 copy from Germany the Monday after. It's a super pressing, clean, expansive, punchy (for what we can assume is essentially 90's sound sources) and with a captivating vivid stereo field. They've utilised the sounds to great effect and I'm happy report that it's an enjoyable listen.Side A - it's opens with the familiar My Kingdom root at the start with the inclusion of new building sounds, wending its way into some very interesting ambience. Collapsed Structures is incredibly 3D in parts, sounds coming at you from all over the room.Side B - a deconstruct and redefine of the main idea, with bare bones beats surrounded in dark and equally menacing stereo trickery. Populate is an interesting and uneasy finale with deep inner city break wrapped in environments that become submersed in reverb. On first listen it sounds confident, polished, lavish then when it ends, it surprises you at perhaps feeling a little short, not on length but on substance. As it says on the cover , it's a reimagined companion to the the original My Kingom, complimenting the definitive existing catalogue of landmark 1990' 12" EPs, thankfully without attempting to compete with them.Is it worth the post RSD markup? If you're a fan like me, keep looking for a reasonable > £30 price and youre going to feel happy in the 'value zone', after all it was only £18.99. Go any higher and you'll feel that perhaps it could have delivered more.

Thanks.

FSOL has been a hit or miss game for me lately. There's not much original in My Kingdom Re-imagined. It's deconstructed, it's complicated, probably more experimental. You won't find the main flute theme on Side 2, not much of Bladerunner either. Side 1 brings them back in Path 7, but that part sounds like a badly mixed version from years ago.Populate is my personal fav, reusing the bass line known from Dead Cities or elsewhere.Overall it's not a bad record, but while I loved the old version from the 1st sight, here I'll need to give it few attempts. Or maybe I need more wine.

To be fair the versions on the original EP (part 2-4) are also completely different from the original. That has always been that way with FSOL. I am actually quite surprised that they used so many references to the original. It's quite a good EP and I'd rate it one of the best releases from them in recent years. I am wondering what happened to path 6 though...

RSD 2018 just a few hours old and the sharks are circling. This release will be coming out on CD in May.
