Reviews:
  • Celak
These two discs, recordings, this whole package, is so very good and beautiful and strange.
  • Trash
That's Greek, not Coptic, and the א is Hebrew.
  • TheJonnyTest
Exactly. The particular text means in greek "Beginning & End".
  • Dagdage
David Tibet knows very well the difference between the Coptic and Greek writing systems, and he wouldn't have accidentally written Coptic words with Greek letters. Coptic doesn't have any pneûma diacritics like the one that appears over the alpha in ἀρχη, which happens to be Koine Greek for "beginning" and is a word from the first verse of the Septuagint. The title translates from Koine Greek as "Beginning (Aleph) End."
  • Gaeuney
Coptic uses a number of characters that are similar to Greek, there is a good chance they just didn't use the right font.
