Old School rave mixes on this 12" from Kevin Saunderson and Joe Beltram. The Reese remixes are the better known with the rave synth rifts, break-beats and use of vocals, but the Joe Beltram mix is worth checking too.

The Joey Beltram mix is a sick amen rinse out with Altern-8 style riffs, its completely NUTS! The Kevin Saunderson mix is not as wild but it does have the full vocal from the original tune which is the selling point of that one to me.

It’s amazing how can a old school funk tune gain a revival through two amazing hardcore techno versions on a same single made by different artists – and none of them English. Well, that’s surely the case on this one: the Reese Hardcore Instrumental mix made by Kevin Saunderson was the most famous one, and it became a massive dance tune of the Rave era, but the one of Joey Beltram (Hardsell Mix) showed a very nice reconstruction work also. A propos, there is a very interesting story concerning this twelve inch that I discovered more recently. My friend owns the copy that belonged to DJ Marky on the old days. On the label of the Hardsell Mix side it is hand-written: “Real Hardcore by Joey Beltram”!

Classic mayhem release, absolutely brilliant remixes by Kevin Saunderson. The Reese Hardcore Instrumental Version has been bootlegged forever. I also like to mention the Hardsell mix by Joey Beltram on the B-side cause it's very well done too and less people know this remix.
