Notes

Re-released expanded edition of the original soundtrack album to coincide with cinematic re-release of original Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions. Contains previously unreleased music.
32-page booklet includes extensive liner notes, photographs, and a recording log for the Star Wars scoring sessions.

Track 1-13b is hidden (although stated and explained on liner notes), starting at minute 5:00 of track 1-13a, after two minutes of silence. It consists of five recorded takes of the "Main Title", presented consecutively with slate numbers and incidental noise; they were takes 16 through 20 of the original recording sessions. Track 1-2 is actually an edited version, using portions from takes 18, 19, and 20. The total duration of track 1-13 (called "Archival Bonus Track") is 17:00.
