Both big tunes - Let it Roll was the one that got the recognition. BUT Paradise is the one for me a deep, deep tune. So Chilled , that beat and heavy sub work so well over the atmospherics. Essential double sider!

And just for info - Let it Roll plays at 45 and Paradise plays at 33. Don't know why.....

This release is an essential addition for any old school Jungle DJ. Both sides are quality tunes. Let it roll, well, let's it roll. An easy tune to mix, it is a real roller with a lovely breakdown. Paradise is less beats and more atmospheric. Very akin to what Bukem was pumping out on Good Looking at the time. Quality. If you don't have it, you need it.

I first heard this track mixed on a Mark Gage comp called a "A Collection of Beat Beats", and it was always one of the stand out tracks for me. Just love the early Dn'B sound here, and that "let it roll" sample was just perfectly dropped - which btw, the sample is from a Doug Lazy track called, well, "let it roll"...

Hi''let it roll'' is a sample of Big Daddy Kane from his track called set it off.

Once again this is Crystl in full effect and a typical release in the "ambient jungle" vein of ´93-´95. For me it is all about "Paradise": Deep and haunting synth melodies are combined together with a deep and subby 808 bassline and a smoothly edited "Think" Break. On the top you got some crisp and clean percussion. The track has such a sunny and friendly atmosphere but at the same time it is so mysterious and unsearchable...if not unreachable. The atmospheric bell-synth line which starts right in the beginning was sampled from the Enigma track "Carly´s song" which was released one year before "Paradise". You can clearly hear how various "Chill out" and "Downtempo" tunes had a massive influence on the early and prototypish Drum & Bass / Jungle scene. Enigma´s tunes seemed to have a special influnence. Q-Project, Lee and Spinback´s tune "2 Deep" which was released on the Legend Records label in 1993 also sampled a Enigma tune. To sum it up: The track name "Paradise" itself describes the atmosphere and mood of the tune in a perfect way. The flipside with "Let it roll" is lovely too. The "Think" break is manipulated in a heavier way here and it is more straight forward. Nevertheless there are some dreamy and deep synth arrangements too. Classic Crystl style ;) There´s also a classic rap vocal sample which was used very often back then! If you don´t have a copy....it was repressed some years ago ;)
