The music of the big band era cuts right through to my heart anytime I happen to catch a tune from it. It's basically an era when War was raging and people just wanted to push aside the headlines and dance the night away. It's amazing how some of the best music can come out of composers and producers when the world is dealing with extreme cases of a depression or other unfortunate events. I adore the music on this compilation because it widely represents a very innocent time in history. Though the people may have been freaky between the sheets, in public they kept everything very polite, very elegant, and very much in line with how their decent society was. When you listen to these LP's you can't help but get lost in the crooning vocals and beautiful orchestrations.
