A1: Electro/Techno crossover. Excellent punchy synth stabs and good insistant vocal. Breakdown a little weak and second half of track could have been more strongly delivered. However. Score [NINE]B1: Electro. After slow start really progresses well with strong vocal. Notable "drying" section towards the end maintains interest. [EIGHT]

Anthony Rother remains the experimentalist. It's just a return not a new wave. You always supposed him to be an electro producer? Do you remember the Family Lounge times? We had some pumping techno in 11 parts...I mean his Kamakasi (Get Pretty Baby)! I'm a great electro-head, so these Rother' pieces do no pleasure to me...but I respect his talent and see that this moves come from his soul.

I like to look at this release not as a departure, but a segue for the mingling of genres. These tracks are a suprise to me as well, but it's Cacoon. IMO, these are for the techno-pop (dare I say, clash) jock, not the elektro purist. But all of that aside, Mr. Rother is building bridges, and having fun with pop in the process. Like we've seen from his previous collaborative efforts, he's expanding the netzwerk. Gotta respect that!

This is a big departure for Mr. Rother, stadium-filling head-banging techno is not my cup of tea, what happened to the straight up electro of old i wonder. I think he has been spending to much time with Sven Vath at his Cocoon Club and it had devinetly rubbed off on his music.
