Wow! Very interesting stuff. What we have here is half old-style violin jazz LP, half modern electronic synthesizers. The violin of Joe Venuti takes center stage here and he plays in a lively and spirited manner, while the background music that he is playing his violin over is nearly entirely electronic instruments, played by the electronic master, Giampiero Boneschi. There are various electric organs, synthesizers and subtle electronic effects that, according to the few paragraphs on the back cover, make this album a pleasant mixture of past and present. It's very true. Also, Attilio Donadio's beautiful clarinet hits all the right notes when he plays it, and it also adds another contrasting and interesting sound to the LP.I really like this one because the old-style violin jazz is awesome, the compositions are really excellent and having the synthesizers to set the backdrops does create quite a rare mixture of sounds. It doesn't sound entirely old due to the electronics adding a bit of that Boneschi magic to the tracks, and believe it or not, still manages to sound extremely fresh and brand new, even today! The album ultimately manages to be a very creative endeavor that any fans of old-time jazz or Boneschi electronics should check out. 5 out of 5 stars!. It's a great listen from start to finish.

It's pretty cool but I doubt it would sell for $651.72 no matter how much you talk it up :PThey reissued this and you can get it for about 5-10 bucks.

The tracks are credited to Joe Venuti, but I have a feeling Boneschi was involved in their composition somehow. I would have liked to have seen how they created this, because it definitely sounds like Boneschi's music, yet the lead violin obviously sounds like Venuti. Interesting, for sure.
