Solex is the stage name of the Amsterdam Liesbeth Eddy. They made short time part of the strap Sonetic fat, but is nowadays a real ' do-it-yourselfer. ' They tinkering her record: all alone in each other. The only thing that they used is her voice and a large number of samples. That samples extracts them from old LPs they in her own shop in Amsterdam plates-and sells. When reading the word ' samples ' you should not to hip hop or rap-music think. Solex makes ordinary pop songs with here and there an avant-garde edge. Low Kick And Hard Bop appeared in 2001, after Solex Vs. The Hitmeister (1998) and Pick Up (1999) her third album. It is undeniably the best Solex-album to date (also the most accessible by the way). The songs wearing funny and impossible titles like Honey (Amsterdam Is Not LA) and You Say Potato, I Say potato. The music that makes is difficult to describe Solex. In any case it is very original, as it is to my knowledge not seen before. Eddy onwijkt each pop stereotype and has paint all prescribed rules. After critical acclaim and successful performances abroad (England and America) is the time that Netherlands also massively realize that Liesbeth Eddy is a unique musician!
