This limited edition [300 copies] 7 inch split 45 rpm single is a haunting bit of magic by Dean & Britta [who’ve signed their side of this blank white label pressing], and The Sand Pebbles, who always ride low and easy, dishing out yet another bit of wanderlust that’s filled with intoxicating washes of gentle feedback and reverb. “I’ll Keep It With Mine,” a Bob Dylan song, best known for Nico’s [of The Velvet Underground] version, and currently part of D&B’s 13 Most Beautiful: Songs for Andy Warhol adventure, has been remixed and jettisoned into space by Sonic Boom [Pete Kember of Spectrum, late of Spacemen 3], for a luscious take on this timeless classic. This version of Dean & Britta’s song has never been released before, while The Sand Pebbles number saw the light of day as a promo only, though this presentation is a special mix, making this rare adventure [released in Australia only] a must have for the serious collector. Britta Phillips has worked with The Sand Pebbles before, and during Dean Wareham’s Galaxie 500 Tour, The Sand Pebbles opened for him at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel.
