Glenn Wilson and Paul Livingstone team up yet again (they collaborated on the excellent "Slide" release under the Dilated Audio guide), this time on Wilson's conceptually perverted snuff label Punish.Hard repetitive tribal rhythms with moans and other extracts from porn movies are to be found on the A side. No real build up or goal to achieve, yet it still sounds incredibly dope and effective in clubs, especially if you're in a desperate need to steal away a few minutes while taking a leak - rest assured the crowd won't mind. That said, all utilitarian praise aside, I seriously doubt this one ever intended to stand on its own.The B side is more to my liking. Still a heavy techno treat, with inexorable percussion, it has resounding clanging metallic effects and background complementary tribal drums which sound like they were getting played on modified african conga drums. A tool very much worth owning, not really in sync with the stuff one can hear on the remaining Punish releases.
