I would have not bothered with this record twice was it not for Developer's Glimmer. Caught me with the guard down and tossed me on a journey of sorts. See, this is a techno track that will always work. It has all the necessary ingredients done just right. It has two playful hooks, going up and down in scale as they rub against each other. It's driven by a firm, driving rhythm section. It is further embellished by panoramic bass drops, meaning an irresistible groover on the daily menu. Impossible not to move your limbs around. Further to the above, it is anchored by a thumping drum pattern, which just keeps on rolling and rolling. It is this wonderful juxtaposition of playful themes and conventional techno rhythmic structures that impresses me so much here. Does not matter what aspect you decide to focus on, because it's done to perfectly compliment the other elements. And when those are combined, this track absolutely kills it.Not really keen on Infinite Numbers, aiming for a more horror like atmosphere. This is executed to moderate success by implementing discordant organ keys as the track's lead. Issue is, it becomes irritating rather quickly, it never diminishes in volume or intensity, and the track is over seven minutes long.Furthermore, the beat is one of the more daft ones to have come out of Developer's shop, and he's usually quite skilled with those. Anyways, this is something you want to keep running for a short amount of time, and have something proper to drop afterwards. The DJ Surgeles contributions are really not my thing. Type of stuff that Jeff Mills, Mike Banks and Robert Hood used to do on their X-102 and X-103 releases. Gloomy, creepy, atmospheric spacey pads and sounds plod around for three to four minutes over fractured beats. Yay. The last contribution really takes it over the edge, as you'll be exposed to a two minute ambient, space is the place drone, or better put, dross.Pulsating Orbs does retain some cool ideas, mainly due to its high pitched acid bleeps and Public Energy "Three O Three" trash can like beats. However, it never really picks up on any of them, and ends up being a halfway done effort that cannot decide if it is 1994 hardcore or 2018 dance floor ammo.
