A great sounding LP-- but my copy was far from "free of noise". Quiet passages are marred by surface noise. This was after doing a thorough clean with my Hannl RCM. Going to try a second copy and report back.

Fantastic pressing.I have the CD of this and the 2011 version is great on LP.It is clear, dynamic and quiet.... very quiet.

There are a couple of reasons to dismiss Pete Yorn and his music ... one being that he’s from New Jersey [do we really need another musician from that state?], two, his music was discovered by the public for it’s use in a movie soundtrack, and three, the total overplay of the song ‘Life On A Chain’ by those knuckle heads form WXPN, who overplayed him so much I didn’t think there could be anything worth while sitting on this disc’s tray.But hey, you know, I dig Jersey, they’ve got some fine beaches there, good sea food and my man Bruce rolled out of there thirty five years ago; so I figured a sincere listen was in order.I imagine that one day I’ll be able to listen to ‘Life On A Chain,’ but not right now. ‘Just Another’ is a compelling number where Pete does a great harmony with his guitar. The song is very moving, strong, well versed, and desperately sung. It’s one of those embarrassing songs that touches all of our hearts when the lights are out, and we’re lying in bed by ourselves.‘Black’ is a complete surprise. I thought it was going to be another slow number, but with the steady back beat drawing you in as Pete flips out line after line with conviction, strong simple guitar work and an unexpected use of a voice modulator wrap this one up tight. Great number.By the time you get to ‘Murrary’ you will be in Pete’s grip and words to a song you’ve never heard will be rolling off you lips as if this song had been a part of your life forever.Then ‘On Your Side’ kicks in for the next five minutes. This song is so well crafted, with nice string arrangements, and the guitars play off each other as if they were backing vocals. Pete’s voice is never better here as the wind instruments come in and swirl around in your head.I could go on listing the rest of the songs, but I think it’s safe to say that this is an introspective album, deeply evoking feelings that tend to get lost between our head and our mouths.
