I remember the day I bought the 12'' from Tempest records in Birmingham, the Jetstar van had just turned up with the weeks new releases and white labels... Big up DJLewi, what tunes they were! Sadly my missus destroyed my collection when we split up and I lost about 3000 vinyls, but maybe one day I'll find another at a reasonable price.

I had some contact with DJ Lewi recently asking if he had any copies still hanging around (Yes, I know, clutching at straws!!) BUT he replied and he's hoping to track down the DATs for a possible repress - Now that would be the repress of the decade - well, for me anyway

"You Better Run" features an amazing Rare Groove sample from Evelyn King - "I Think My Heart Is Telling". It's an absolutely murderous tune and worth the entry price alone. Massive release and seriously tough to come by, good luck hunting this one down!

The tune i was looking for was cowboy style which was a king addis dubplate by josey wales and bounty killer

The version of You better run hype plays at roast land of giants in 1995 is probably an earlier version lewi had done and cut

Definitely one of the top Jet Star releases, and from the number of mails I've got about it, one of the rarest. Lots of layered amens, warping bass and reggae samples, all three tracks interspersed with plenty of vocals. It hard to tell who the vocalists are on this. All three tracks sound like they have different artists. As commented in the notes above the only one we can be sure of is A1, as Daddy Freddy name checks himself. The B side sounds a bit like Cutty Ranks, but its hard to tell.Though its not credited anywhere, the tracks all sound very much like Remarc.

This is not Dj Hype as he just confirmed me on FB that he knows nothing about this release....so we have to keep searching...guesssing....the mission continues

Im not sure myself about this being by Remarc, I think if it was anyone it's more likely to be Dj Hype as he was the only one I ever heard play it back in 1995, and this was a Dub version he played which was slightly different to this one. It had more off the Cutty Ranks track sampled in it and also more off the "YOU BETTER RUN" sample in it through the Intro and half way through, and it had a slightly heavier bass line.

yeah it's cutty ranks, dunno who the ganja tune is by though.I got to agree with djoperator this is hype if anybody, sounds like him, plays another version of you better run at roast 95Although the daddy freddy track does sound a bit like a remarc track, funny enough i do remember that track in particular being played quite a bit back in the day
