Back when I got this record I was really into this band. We can thank The Matrix soundtrack for that. For the next 2 years I went on a journey that was the mid-80s to (then) present industrial and techno soundscapes - I'm not too into the music now but I respect the impact it had on my life, especially MBM. This EP came out on my 14th birthday, even! So I ordered it as soon as it hit the Internet and I got copy #0029/1000, signed & hand-painted by Jack Dangers. It's a bit different than the releases leading up to this (Subliminal Sandwich & Actual Sounds + Voices) and aims for a more lo-fi experience especially on side A focusing on drum and bass, and strips away a lot of vocals (samples and Jack Dangers, himself) found in most of MBM's other releases. One thing that really stands out on this is that Jack Dangers knows how to pick his frequencies. We played this at a frat house basement party with a 4,000W sound system and some of the bass notes were so perfectly powerful it was the only thing you heard. I've heard stories of this band, for lack of better words, shaking some bowels at their live concerts, and this is no exception.

I've got #0068 (signed, gun metal ink) & #0649 (blue ink). The vinyl #0068 was shattered upon delivery, so I requested a replacement and received #0649. Both came with flexi discs. Now that I think about it, I should have kept the shattered copy and pasted it together Christian Marclay like … Oh well! If you're a MBM fan, this is absolutely worth seeking out. Side 1 starts off with a siren loop then drops the bass and heads off into the stratosphere. Track two is all crashy drums and bass drops. Noisy and jazzy. Side Two is two downtempo vintage Jack beat workouts.

Annoyingly hard to find, but well worth the effort to track down in some form. I was lucky enough to own one copy pressed in the 300s, and recorded it prior to passing it along to a new fan. One of my favorite MBM/Jack Dangers recordings, with the A side being the stronger of the two.Fragments is a sample-heavy but energizing track, and Behemoth is the standout on the EP (and by far my favorite). Both sound like similar to Actual Sounds + Voices era MBM. The B side is more laid back, with Structures and # Four enjoyable but not as interesting as the A side.
