Not sure who is responsible but the mix on the vinyl and download is a muddy mess. I like the band but this record sounds like garbage. Really bad
  • Arihelm
Very disappointing sound quality. Very compressed and no dynamic range. Not worth to own on vinyl. Stream sounds just as good or better.
  • Arthunter
Are we sure this is not a duplicate of the '1st Pressing - Standard gram black vinyl - Ltd. to 3800' release listed as a US pressing..? (Release ID: 12416345)
  • Agamaginn
Enjoying the music. Mastering job and pressing not so much. Deserves more care, reverb and delay a little muddy. Should be sucking me in but isn't.

Really great album. Better than Tired of Tomorrow. But I gotta say I think the recording quality leaves a lot to be desired. Very muddy guitars, not powerful at all. In fact, everything (drums, bass, vocals, guitar) sounds muddled, thin and a bit weak. I thought maybe my record was bad, but I just streamed it on Spotify and it's the same issue. Normally I'm not a fan of remastered albums, but this one definitely needs a better mastering job.Edit: whoops, just realized the post below mine has nearly the exact same complaint as I do. Didn't mean to replicate his/her post. But hey, at least others agree and it's not just in my head
  • Dolid
Agreed, the way this album was recorded definitely makes me like it less. Especially the drums.
  • Hellblade
I agree it's not too terrible, definitely not a deal breaker. I've listened to the album almost non-stop for the last 24 hours, and production aside I think it's their best yet. Almost every song is fantastic. I just wish the production had been on point, would've made this album a total classic. My biggest gripe is the guitar tone. Sounds like some cheap computer effects distortion pedal/patch, really digital sounding.
  • iSlate
Definitely noticed the poor production too, I guess that's what they tend to sound like. Need several listening to get used to it, but overall not too disturbing, waiting to get the LP to make a real opinion, only based on digital listening for now.
  • Prinna
Production sounds muddy, but from what I can tell from other sources (Spotify etc) that's the album itself, not a fault of this pressing/mastering.
