Video about Judy Jackson - Electric Love

Reviews:
  • Exellent
It's puzzling why producer Jack White's Ariola-LPs are all so scarce. American singer Judy Jackson debuted in 1981 with a sound-alike cover version of Icelandic Þú Og Ég's haunting "Í Reykjavíkurborg", her version being called "My Home Town". 1982 saw her turn to schlager with "Paradise Generation" (definitely the least attractive of the tracks here), her third single - the silly novelty record "Shake A Belly" - followed and was meant to be the title track of her album.Upon its release early 1983, however, the title had been changed to "Electric Love" which would also become her fourth and final single. This delightful electro-pop tune is catchy and fun. Curiously, Ariola seemed to have cut Mr. White's budget short 'cause the rest of the album is made up by songs previously recorded by Sandy Powers late 1979. While there are some good tunes (particularly "Feelings" and "Don't Walk On Me"), the rest sound quite dated by 1983. Judy Jackson was never heard of again; Jack White, on the hand, achieved major success with Laura Branigan, Jermaine Jackson, Pia Zadora and many more right after this venture.
