Dolphin Boy - Gateaux Youth flac mp3 download

Andy Levy aka Dolphin Boy delivers great Scottish-flavoured downtempo on Gateaux Youth, kicking off amazingly with the loungey and smooth "Shake it Loose" which twists from extremely relaxing rhodes to a swinging groove, sampling Peggy Lee's 'Fever'. "Don't Stop" goes on the song-route and has beautiful vocals, backed by a swirling ambiance in its chorus. "On the Ceiling" is hypnotically slow, with some excellent sampling. A lot darker is the standout "Handsome as Ever", thanks to the terrific uplifting part after three minutes running. However, the other four tracks are less remarkable. "What You're Going Through" and "Can't Nobody Fuck With Me" are rather boring and "Reality" starts off decent, but after two minutes very annoying samples are thrown in. The magical "Wham, Bam, Thankyou, Ma'am" is much better, saving the second half somewhat. The bonus remixes aren't very good either, save for Aqua Bassino's upbeat version of "On the Ceiling". This remix and the first four tracks still make Gateaux Youth a nice album.
