Rhythmically, A1 is one of the most complex and challenging techno cuts to date. The percussion drop at times seems out of sync with the bass hit, thus creating a confusing, puzzling split-level structure. The pace is untamable, yet due to the somewhat incompatible contour, it takes one hell of a serious DJ to properly mix it, but those willing to take up the gauntlet will provide one ultimately rewarding and classic moment on the dance floor. A timeless cut, which despite its obvious inclination towards the clubs, sounds more elaborate and carefully thought out than 85% of material generally regarded as intelligent.B1 is a sci-fi horror flick track, driven by off-beat drum patterns and nervous, shuffled synth stabs building to that haunting and intimidating lead some three minutes deep.A2 is a fast rolling thumper, with deep echoing soundscapes bouncing off each other in the background. The dynamic range of this one is great; from prominent and uproarious to toned down and secondary – the rather large depth of this tune is awesome.B2 and B3 are more on the cyborg, dystopian and experimental side of things, very recommended to fans of stuff like the Jeff Mills "Humana", "Cycle 30" and "The other day" EPs.At the time of its release, "Preliminary statements" sounded like little else on the market. Not quite as hard (OK, with the exception of the A1 track) and monotonous as his Downwards inspired releases on ZET and Expire, and not as spacey as Axis or the later releases on Asymmetric.A1 is a landmark proper techno killer classic, hear that one if nothing else. Intentionally or not, it inspired another gem, Adam Beyer’s & Henrik B’s banger Kushido years later. As far as recommendations go, I’d opt for "The secondary" [ASY002] for a more stomping, full blown techno feel and "The difficult third" [ASY003] for the really cerebral and far out work, taking the genre to its extreme limits. One of my favorite Kennedy releases, together with the early Reducer stuff and the ridiculously intense "On the move EP".

Yeah that's right! One of the hottest techno record ever made. The word "mad" is an utterly under rated term trying to express this. Dark as hell, brutal, barbaric, stubborn, relentless and menacing a real dancefloor beast! This is how I would describe it. Fantasticly produced an assymetrical pumping masterpiece. (When it was released it really has showed a new side to the techno fans of their beloved energy on top music.) You either love it or hate it it leaves you with a big shock. It's just one of those "down on your fucking knees" things... Words cannot explain the feeling when you get hit with it. Fantastic!!!

This is techno at its most brutal, unrelentless and minimal. Cleverly programmed and well produced, Inigo shows his uncompromising vision of what real techno is about. Music doesnt usually get much better than this!

F**king INSANE!. The main track with the pounding loops and heavy EQ tweaking is massive on a big system. It is really mental and intense. Minimalism how it should be done! I also dig one of the inside cuts that has a low subbass kick and some synth washes. Very dark. Good intro track.
