Notes

Jazz emerged in Azerbaijan in the 1930s. The State Jazz Orchestra was founded in 1940 which happens to be the same year that the world famous jazzman Vagif Mustafazadeh was born in Icheri Sheher, Baku. When the Orchestra ceased to exist, jazz musicians such as Vagif, Rafig Babayev and others continued to promote the genre.
The native land of Azerbaijan, the hometown of Baku and Icheri Sheher are all praised in their jazz compositions.
Even after their deaths, their legacy continues to inspire many talents, In this album, we present both classic and contemporary jazz compositions dedicated to Azerbaijan, Baku, and Icheri Sheher.
