A little question: the original pressing have the track "Labor" closed few seconds before the real end. Have this pressing the full song?

Yes the packaging is disappointing - although my LPs don't get stuck inside like others - but the sound on this is absolutely superb. Great pressing!

I firstly have to mention the problem that many talk about. Including 2 records in a jacket sleeve that is not a gatefold creates problems. The main one being how tight things get and the consequences being extremely fast ring wear on the jacket. With that said you know what you are buying surface wise. Underneath is a fantastic sounding mastering on a spot on pressing. The bass is powerful and instruments clear sounding with Aesops lyrics just as hearable. I feel like these have to be 180 gram records as well even though its not stated in the format section. Beside the tight packaging it looks rather great and it compliments the music very well. Like Aesops obsession with TV on the backside. Too bad there are no lyrics, although fitting that much writing would be a challenge.Equipment used:Rega RP1 with Rega Carbon cartridgeCyrus 2 AmplifierSystem Fidelity SF-3050 tower speakersCustom made HQ speaker cables

to all who own this release, the lp released in 2001 is the opposite... i own it and i can fit 4 records in the sleeve very comfortably. not a coincidence... the original is obviously a collectors necessity compared to the "missers" who "missed" the original release. I did, but that is why i ordered the original LP on discogs.

I feel the same exact way should have been a gate fold, it sounds impressive but considering that it's a collectors item im kinda disappointed, come on Aesop. The fan base of this purchase are hardcore fans so i would expect better packaging. This is just one aspect that pisses me off about all these new releases. They cost so much for something that should cost nothing, wtf is all i can say 30 dollars for this i should have spent 40 on an original. sorry amazing album, bad packaging.

Hi, I've a question; I have the original press but, for reasons of space, there are songs as "Labor" that have been cut before. In this press, for example, "Labor" have an end like the cd version? Thanks a lot.

I totally agree with this, although when u think about it..most double albums that don't have a gatefold are a pain in the ass when sliding the vinyls back into the sleeves. Take my copy of Madvillainy for example, same issue. I bet you even the original has the same problem. I do kinda wish i went for an OG copy of it instead but whatever get both when in doubt

Great repress, of an epic album. It sounds perfect. Sleeve is too tight as mentioned by others, gets better with MFSL inners.
  • Gavirim
I was going to say exactly this! Beat me to it.

This jacket is tight, I can barely fit both records into it. Feels like it should have either been widened, or a gatefold.

Agreed, the sleeve is 1-2mm too thin and too short. I am storing w/ 2nd record behind the cover in a plastic outer.
  • Barinirm
i agree. I couldn't believe they were both packed into a single sleeve. it sounds good but i'm really disappointed on the packaging.

Definitely one of the most solid Hip-Hop albums of the "naughties". Aesop works hard on this one, true to the title, and he's equal parts comfortable, confident, and relaxed while he speaks a volume about what's right and wrong about the scene. Certainly a Def Jux classic, and my favorite of his.
