This must have been a hit back then, but I missed it and discovered it some weeks ago when one dj (Grainger) closed his setlist and the club with this "I want you in my soul", without mixing it, just from the beginning. It is really a remarkable disco/house/deep track with vocals talking about desperate love, with a nice overlapping of sounds that in the beginning has a very 80s sound and starts to sound more contemporary as it approaches the vocals. After a long build-up, a powerful and subtle bassline is added the singing-ranting of Stee Downes starts: from an atmospheric house tune, it suddenly becomes a monster when the insistent keyboards syncopate the rhythm. Then, the call and response chorus elevates the tune to one of those urgent please please love me now I am desperate let's do things together lyrics, going through many different climaxes until the song ends at 8 minutes looking as it could take 8 minutes longer. An amazing piece of work, of sound engineering and composition, of something that could be a bit trite if it wasn't done that well.
