To anyone who is experiencing the skipping issue on ;Cleva', I have looked at it with a magnifying glass and played around with it and it seems that the grooves are very close/ run into one another. After a day or so of staring and magnifying it seems the solution/issue is the anti-skating. On my pro-ject carbon III if I rest the anti-skating weight (or basically remove it) so that it is not in force during the song, the skip does not occur, (it did a couple times but I think it is okay now). So it's maybe that this bridge between the groves is being followed when the anti-skating is pulling the needle through and into a loop rather than following the groove around properly. I'm pleased because this is probably one of my favourite albums ever, Best of luck to you fellow Badu-ites, enjoy the music!

Badu's best album imo. As classic as Baduizm is, it sounds of it's time to me. This sees her Pushing herself in different directions and experimenting and it all comes together perfectly.

On Mama's Gun Badu stretches out artistically. The lyrics are more direct, the style's a little more expansive that her amazing début, but the result is a set of less memorable songs that just aren't as strong or fresh. She's still a great artist; you can still hear Billie Holiday, Gill Scott-Heron and Stevie Wonder, and there are some good, memorable tunes on here, I particularly appreciate the teaming up with Stephen Marley on the ballad "In Love With You" but it was always going to be a tough task to top "Baduizm", and this doesn't do that.
