While no one would accuse Vanity of having a great voice, when one listens to the production of these songs now, it amazes at just how of yet ahead of it's time the production was. This is the sound that newer acts like Chromeo and Peaches are looking to emulate, a funk/synth/rock hybrid.

This record isn't very good. The instrumental in "Mechanical Emotion" has a nice kind of "black 80s swing groove" thang happinin and the lyrics on the flip side are absolutley hilarious: "Oooh! Yes! He made such a mess of my dress!" However, this record is sub-par.
