Super hard to track down CD, but finally got it...Another superb electronic-pop fusion maxi-single from the Psykosonik guys. Very much in the vein of the Unlearn single, we get ample variations of the same song. The styles are all over the place and are different enough that 8 mixes of the same song almost feel like a complete album of distinct songs! As always, they take a great melody, smooth vocals and mix up the beats and backing a bit. Sunyata is very catchy. If this track was on Unlearn (album) it would be one of the top ones for sure. The standout tracks:1 is the album version from the album that never was. The original and best.3 focuses on the guitar riff and some wicked messed up beats and fx with a wonderfully contrasting vibraphone mellow flair affair. Some phat big beat squelches top it off. Reminds me of Beefcake.4 is a jungle / big beat / ravey (are they allowed to combine all three?) stomper with prominent vocals.6 and 2 are similar, both very smoooth: lush multibar synth chords provide cranial floatation and perfectly parallel the sparse vocals. Call it house/disco, complete with wa-wa guitar and dance tones. The production quality is second to none. I don't know how this team does it, but they have some of the slickest production coming out of the states.Where's the full album? We want more!!
