Another essential release from Patrick Prins. The A-side was always a bit of a weird one for me. Somewhere between hardbag and the music you'd hear on the waltzers at the fairground in them days. Not quite happy hardcore, because of the tempo. Now it's a time tested classic.The real gems for me here though, have always been the two tracks on the B-side. The VERY Patrick Prins-y trancey proggy moody 'Trans Orient Express' that could have been released under many of his psuedonyms and the ambient type soft paddy 'What Comes Around Goes Around' with it's tinkling keys.Around this era Patrick seemed to use a similar formula for his EPs. Heavy hitting club anthem on the A-side, Darker tune on the B1 and a lovely ambient / 'chill out' type piece for B2. Bits & Pieces is such a strange track to pigeon hole, given that is doesn't fit into any real style.I suppose the closest thing you can get, around the '94 era, is "Happy House". That's not a style at all, but it's what everyone called this tune back then.Thousands of ravers know this tune, and to them it really doesn't matter what this track is defined as.It's just such a euphoric piece of dance music, no words can describe it!Instantly memorable, you never forget it. The main riff sounds so simple but it's not one you could make by yourself.Pure genius by the legend that is Patrick Prins.
