OK, not sure how to describe this one the best way. But this privately pressed 12"-single is a, please excuse my French, "BAD ASS" record!It features two variations of the track, whereby each side contains an additional edit for radio play. However, I doubt that any of the two versions got any airplay at the time. The sound found here was perhaps simply too advanced for most radio programmers and listeners from the late 1970s. Anyway, both mixes, i.e. the "Rock & Roll' and the "Disco" respectively are quite similar. The main difference between to the two versions is, that the "Rock & Roll" one gives the electric guitar parts more standout place in the mix overall whereas in the "Disco" the guitar riffs are more subdued. Nevertheless, both mixes are equally as great. If you are into psychedelic, Franco-Canadian disco tracks like Bear Brothers' "Love Is" or Demis Roussos "Let It Happen", then this one is for you! However and IMHO, "The Nightswing" is even better than any of the two aforementioned songs. It's not for everyone as it is a bit "out there" musically. Nevertheless: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the more progressive minded listener!
