The A side is good but it's the B side that does it for me. Both sound like they could have been done today [2004]. The 'kp2' mix is a crisp broken beat and the 'blue clave' mix has that awesome Nicola Conte style latin percussion influence all over it. Original track taken from the Black Saint album (Catalog: #120121-2), 'Mayan Temples' by Sun Ra Arkestra which is said to be one of Sun Ra's better later albums. It was recorded in Italy in 1990 just before he had a disabling stroke.
