EMI Classics "Encore" series budget reissue of various selections composed by Maurice Ravel, recorded in 1986 and performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of André Previn. The packaging features an eight-page foldout booklet with uncredited liner notes on the composer, conductor, and featured works; photos of the composer and conductor (the latter by Clive Barda!); a partial listing of other releases in the "Encore" series; and a reproduction of the tapestry "The Meeting of Philip IV (1605-65) of Spain and Louis XIV (1638-1715) on the Island of Pheasants" on the interior pages; and color front and back covers, the former featuring a partial reproduction of "The Orange Gatherers" by J. Querol (which is also reproduced in full on the front on the inlay card!), and the latter featuring track, production, and technical information.
