There was Joe Bataan in America doing his rap disco boogie "Rap-O-Clap" thing in the late 70's and later on, as going was getting tougher, Blowfly came up in the early 80's with his straight x-rated "Rapp Dirty" boogie thing. In Europe, and to be exact, in Italy Herbie Goins did as well his thing in 1983 and released along with the production team of Grop a fine disco boogie single named "Scrap Rap". You can feel all the basic disco elements here, including percussions, basslines and wah-wah guitars. It's been all copied from the standards of early 80's disco music, reproduced (played, arranged and produced) and adding that Italian flavour to it: synthesizer solos, subtle arpeggiator bassline going through between the parts, Italian "ooo-ah ooo-ah" vocal chorus (due to limitations for pronounce proper and correct English), etc. Nevertheless, it's no crap that Scrap Rap.
