When the Great Void is at one's back it causes a constant substrata of fear.
But when one turns his back on the world and faces the Void an intense bliss is generated so that he yearns to be engulfed and absorbed into it.
This is mirrored by the guitarist who turns his back on the audience and faces the amplifier, generating a wave of feedback. He too yearns to be engulfed and absorbed in the sound.
