It's hard to argue against the perception that the world is "going to hell in a hand-basket". Environmental destruction is accelerating and shows no signs of improvement despite all the work of countless activists. Governments are consistently moving towards greater and greater use of totalitarian control methods against their helpless populations. Police are becoming increasingly violent towards the citizens. Those with money and resources increasingly begrudge the same to more and more people struggling to survive, showing ever growing contempt for humanity in general. Hatred and greed are driving humanity headlong into oblivion. Ignorance and fear are celebrated and rewarded while intellect and rationality are demonized like Salem witches. This is our world and we have no one but ourselves to blame for it.
